The Shortest Possible Meditation
People often tell me they don’t have time to meditate. And I get it, life is dense. The day fills itself. The phone fills the gaps.
So here’s a secret I wish someone had told me earlier:
Meditation needn't take time. It needs only awareness.
Here is the smallest possible meditation:
Take one breath, and actually notice it.
That’s it. Feel the inhale arrive. Feel the exhale leave.
We don’t have to close our eyes. We don’t have to sit straight. We don’t have to be calm. We don’t have to be “good at it.”
One honest breath is enough. Just one moment of awareness is all. Now, we can get on with the chaos around us with one small step towards awareness, or we can take another breath...
